Shared by Gerard & Juliana 16,600 km over ten weeks
The Tanami, the Gibb, the Oodnadatta and Birdsville tracks — 16,600 km of character-building outback.
Just thought I’d pass on my appreciation for your efforts in sending the two Pneumatic Struts to us in Broome and the two newly designed mounting brackets in Kununurra. Your back-up service was quite impressive.
All in all though the Non Off Road Pod Trailer put up a solid performance.
This in light of our journey covering the Tanami Road N.T.& W.A, the road to Cape Leveque and Middle Lagoon, the Gibb River Road W.A., The Oodnadatta Track, The Birdsville Track S.A.and Birdsville Developmental Road Qld. The latter in flooded and slushy conditions, a character building experience.
All up we covered 16,600km over ten weeks through multiple river and other water crossings. Throughtout most of the trip we barely noticed the weight of the trailor behind us, and we were loaded to the gunnels.
Putting the two additional pneumatic shock absorbers underneath the trailer and placing the suspension on top of the axle provided extra clearance and control. Especially as we were carrying 40 litres of water on the draw bar and 40 litres of Diesel on the trailor jerry can holders you provided. There were times on The Tanami and The Gibb Roads and the Birdsville Track where we thought the trailer was going to blasted to smithereens, by the Gibber rocks and shale. It survived…quite well keeping our Tent, food and equipment well sealed and water proof…installing the extra seals made huge difference, keeping most of the dust from the Great Out Back, outside. We’re still getting it out of the 4WD.
Again many thanks for back up service.
