Products that earn respect.
Have you ever owned a favourite old pair of boots, or couldn't bear to part with that old 4WD? Every time you use them, they remind you of every trip you've taken together. They've earned your respect and your trust. Stockman builds the same kind of product.
Twenty years of building one good idea at a time.
Stockman was formed in May 2006 in Carrum Downs with the world's first plastic-tub pod trailer. It won the 2006 Australian plastic award for best conversion product, and twenty years on, with thousands of Pods on the road, the idea hasn't changed: a tub that won't rust, a lid that locks, and a chassis built to last.
Designed by Phil Savory.
Stockman was founded — and is still designed — by Phil Savory, who brings 30 years of industrial design and a farming background, and an innovative, common-sense approach to a trade that hadn't changed in decades.
Before Stockman, Phil designed Fisher & Paykel's internationally awarded Smart-drive washing machine and the Sharpsmart reusable medical-waste system used in hospitals around the world.
He's originally from New Zealand, and that practical, make-it-last instinct runs through everything Stockman builds — including a commitment to recycled materials wherever possible.
Smart, simple, and built to last.
- No rust, no flapping tarps.
- In this modern era we shouldn't tolerate heavy, clumsy, rusting trailers and flapping tarpaulins.
- Our Pods are made in Australia.
- Designed and built in Carrum Downs from recycled-content polyethylene, on a galvanised chassis. The Rover and Trekka are designed here too — and the Rover's chassis is built here.
- Proven by owners.
- Torture-tested across Cape York, the Tanami, the Gibb River Road, the Birdsville and Oodnadatta Tracks.
